Fahadh Faasil will don the role of a photographer in his upcoming flick "Maheshinte Prathikaram". The film is directed by debutant Dileesh Pothan, who is better known for his appearance in the film "Salt n' Pepper" (2012) as a film director.

Dileesh has been active in Malayalam film industry for past 12 years as scriptwriter. He also had his screen presence in the film "Gangster" (2014). The film will be produced by Aashiq Abu under the banner of OPM Dream Mill Cinemas.

Fahadh will play the role of a photographer who owns a small studio in Idukki. He clicks photographs for weddings and other functions in the village. He comes across an unexpected incident during one of his photography works. The film focuses on the concept of love and revenge.

Fahadh Faasil and Aashiq Abu have earlier worked together in "22 Female Kottayam" (2012), which was the latter's directorial. This film was one of the careers best for both Fahadh and Aashiq.

Fahadh's performance won South Indian International Movie Awards Best Actor, Best Actor Filmfare South, Performer of the year Asiavision Movie Awards and Best Actor Vanitha Film Awards. For Aashiq Abu the film was his career best where he won Mohan Raghavan Award for Best Director and gave him nominations in Best Director category in SIIMA Awards and Filmfare Awards.

The script is written by Syam Pushkaran, known for his work in "Salt n' Pepper"(2011), "22 Female Kottayam" (2012), "Da Thadiya" (2012), "5 Sundarikal" (2013), "Idukki Gold" (2013), "Un Samayal Arayil" (2014) and "Oggarane" (2014). 

The film will be edited by Saiju Shreedharan and the music will be composed by Bijipal. While the cinematography is handled by Shaiju Khalid and the art direction by Ajayan Chalissery, the costumes will be designed by Sameera Saneesh.

"Maheshinte Prathikaram" has lot of expectations considering the previous associations of Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Aashiq Abu. The shooting is expected to begin by the end of this year.
