RS Vimal directorial "Ennu Ninte Moideen", starring Prithviraj and Parvathy Menon in the lead, has performed remarkably well at the Kerala box office on the first week.
The romantic thriller, which has touched the hearts of movie-goers, has grossed Rs 5.85 crore from 91 screens at the Kerala box office on the first week and is set to become a blockbuster in the coming week, reports said.
Apart from the classic love story of the film, positive reviews from critics and audience have also helped the business of the Prithviraj movie. More screens have also been added due to repeat audience, according to reports
"Ennu Ninte Moideen", which has been released only in Kerala, will have an outside release only on 2 October, because of disputes between Film Exhibitors' Federation and Film Distributors Association in the state.
"Ennu Ninte Moideen", based on the real-life story of Moideen and Kanchanamala, has also received rave reviews from critics as well as audience. "Ennu Ninte Moideen", set in Kozhikode during the 1960s, also has Bala, Lena, Tovino Thomas, Saikumar, and Sashikumar in pivotal roles.
Once the film releases in other parts of India, especially cities like Chennai and Bengaluru, as well as Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, where there is a huge presence of considerable Malayali diaspora, the box office collection is expected to double.
The film's collection has not been hindered by the latest releases like Dileep-Jeethu Joseph venture "Life of Josutty" as well as the Asif Ali starrer "Kohinoor".
One can expect "Ennu Ninte Moideen" to have a smooth run at the box office until Friday, 2 October, when Mammootty starrer "Pathemari" gets released.
