The schedule for England's long tour of India has been announced, with the English set to play in five Test matches, three ODIs and another three T20 international matches.

England's series will begin with the first Test match in Rajkot, starting on November 9, while their final match will be in 2017, when the 3rd T20 takes place at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on the first day of February.

The five-Test series could go on till December 20, with the final Test of this five-match series taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from Dec. 16 – in between those two Test matches, a bit of history will be created when Visakhapatnam hosts the its first ever Test match, the second of the series.

After the Test matches, India and England say "alright, we need a break from each other" for a month. Once the Christmas and New Year festivities are over, MS Dhoni will take over the captaincy duties from Virat Kohli, assuming he remains the skipper, for the limited-overs leg of the tour.
