Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer "Drishyam", which is a remake of Malayalam film of the same name, will keep the audience hooked till the end, according to critics.

The film, which also stars Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor, is a thriller drama and will release worldwide on 31 July. The story revolves around IG Meera Deshmukh, whose son goes missing and the prime suspect is the Salgaonkar family.

Ajay plays the role of Vijay Salgaonkar, Shriya as his wife Nandhani and Ishita Dutta plays his daughter, while Tabu plays the role of IG Meera Deshmukh and Rajat Kapoor as her husband.

Critics have called "Drishyam" an edge of your seat thriller drama backed with superb performances from Ajay and Tabu.

Meena Iyer of The Times of Indiasaid that the film has a nail-biting climax. 

"Ajay, who is the prey here, shines in his role of the protective father. While his family definitely needed to be cast in a more discerning fashion, half a star in this review is reserved for Tabu, who is outstanding as his predator."

Bollywood Hungama in its review said: "DRISHYAM is an absolute winner that keeps you hooked completely right till the end. It is definitely a must watch movie this weekend."

Tushar P Joshi of BollywoodLife.com said: "Drishyam is worth a watch. It has a strong engaging second half that will have you on the edge of your seat. Watch it for some terrific performances from Ajay and Tabu." 

Subhash K Jha in his review said: "Watch Drishyam closely. It may one day help you bail a dear one out of an unforeseen crisis. And to do that you don't have to be a 'chautthi fail."

Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV said: "Drishyam is gripping in parts but is anything but an unblemished humdinger." 

Rohit Vats of Hindustan Times said:"Drishyam works because it's a finely crafted suspense thriller after a really long time."
