Ajay Devgn and Tabu Starrer "Drishyam" first week box office collection is in the same range as "Baahubali -- the Beginning" (Bahubali).

The Hindi version of "Baahubali -- the Beginning" (Bahubali) minted over Rs 46.77 crore in its first week and "Drishyam" also minted approximately Rs 46.28 crore.

"#Baahubali [Hindi version] Fri 5.15 cr, Sat 7.09 cr, Sun 10.11 cr,Mon 6.10 cr, Tue 6.15 cr, Wed 6.05 cr, Thu 6.12 cr. Total: ₹ 46.77 cr. WOW," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"Drishyam", starring Ajay and Tabu, was released in over 2,300 screens in India. The film had an average opening, but later the ticket sales increased at the box offices due to good word of mouth.

Here is the first week breakup of "Drishyam": Opening day Rs 8.50 crore, Saturday Rs 9.40 crore, Sunday Rs 12.58 crore, Monday Rs 4.05 crore, Tuesday Rs 4.50 crore, Wednesday Rs 4.10 crore and Thursday 3.60 crore.

"Drishyam" first week box office collection is the eighth highest this year. The highest first week box office collection of 2015 is being held by Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", followed by "ABCD - Any Body Can Dance 2" with second highest and "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" with third highest earnings.

"Drishyam" has also shattered the lifetime box office collection of Ranbir Kapoor-Arjun Rampal starrer "Roy" in India. The film is now set to take its 10-days box office income to over Rs 50 crore mark.
