Puneeth Rajkumar's Dodmane Huduga has witnessed an overwhelming response by the Kannada audience. The movie, which was released on 30 September, has made a fantastic collection at the Sandalwood box office in its 3-day first weekend.

Dodmane Huduga was released in over 250 screens in Karnataka and made over Rs 5 crore on the first day although there are some reports of the flick making Rs 6 crore on its opening day. On its second day, the Kannada film enjoyed good viewership. But on Sunday, the business saw a huge jump, thereby ending its first weekend on a high note.

The estimates from the trade experts indicate that Dodmane Huduga, which has Radhika Pandit playing the female lead, earned over Rs 13 crore in the three-day first weekend. It is a predicted number and final number will vary as the makers are yet to reveal it.

Suri's Dodmane Huduga has opened to positive reviews, which helped the Kannada movie to retain good viewership on Saturday and Sunday. The movie has all the elements that regular mass audience like.

Getting required number of screens for Kannada films has been a major issue for Sandalwood as non-Kannada films dominate the theatres in Bengaluru. Due to the tensions between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka over Cauvery water issue, Kollywood films are not hitting the screens in the state. This has turned out to be an advantage for Sandalwood as the Kannada films are getting maximum number of screens for its release.
