Malayalam film-maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan's wife Sunanda died at Tata Memorial Centre Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday, 22 September, according to reports.
The 66-year-old was undergoing medical treatment at the Parel-based hospital for two weeks, said online reports.
The body will reportedly be brought to Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday afternoon and the funeral will be held in the evening at Santhikavadam electric crematorium in Thycaud.
Sunanda is survived by her husband Adoor and daughter Ashwathi Dorje, who is acting as Additional Police Commissioner in Mumbai.
The news comes as the Kerala film fraternity is still reeling at the death of Malayalam playback singer Radhika Thilak.
