"Kolaveri di" singer Dhanush is set to enter the Kannada film industry. Well, not as an actor, but as a singer. Yes, the multi-faceted personality will be crooning a song for Shivaraj Kumar's forthcoming Sandalwood flick.

Dhanush will be making his singing debut in the upcoming Kannada film,"Vajrakaya". Music director Arjun Janya has confirmed the news and has claimed that the film has a song similar to "Kolaveri di" and this made them approach the actor for the song.

"We have two sets of lyrics, which we took to him. He liked both and agreed to sing for us. Now, we have to figure out which version to use," Arjun Janya told The Times of India.

Dhanush has become a popular face in Karnataka following the success of "Kolaveri di" song from the film, "3" and his films have often done good business in Bangalore. The National Award-winning actor has a lot of friends in Sandalwood including actress Ramya aka Divya Spandana. He also shares good rapport with the Rajkumar family.

However, Dhanush has crooned over 10 songs in Kollywood so far. His debut track was "Naattu sarakku" in "Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan". Till date, he has not sung in other languages. So, the Kannada song is expected to be a special track for him as well as Sandalwood audience.

However, "Vajrakaya" is directed by A Harsha, who had earlier worked with Shivaraj Kumar in the hit film, "Bhajarangi". While their first project was an action-packed film, the latest one, as per the director, is a family entertainer.
