The trailer of Dhanush's much-awaited film "Velai Illa Pattadhaari" (VIP) has been released on the internet.

The video suggests that the film will be a complete entertainer with all the commercial elements.

The trailer was released on Tuesday midnight and has received positive response from fans. Within hours of its release, the official video has fetched more than 40,000 hits on the video sharing site YouTube and fans have also posted positive comments about the film's trailer.

"VIP" is Dhanush's 25th film and is directed by cinematographer-turned-director Velraj. The film has Amala Paul as the female lead, while Saranya Ponvannan, Samuthirakani, Vivek and Anita Ratnam are also part of the cast.

The romantic action entertainer has music by Anirudh and the songs have already turned out to be hits. The first look poster and the teaser have generated positive buzz about the film and with the release of trailer, the expectations are likely to soar.

"VIP" is produced by Wunderbar Films banner and the film will be released by Escape Artist Motion Pictures. The Dhanush starrer is all set to hit the screens in July, though an official release date is yet to be announced.

This will be the actor's first release of 2014 after "Naiyaandi," which hit theatres in October 2013. Last year, Dhanush had three releases including his Hindi debut "Raanjhanaa" and the critically-acclaimed Tamil film "Mariyaan." While "Ranjhanaa" was a commercially successful project, "Mariyaan" was just an average grosser though Dhanush's performance won accolades from all quarters. "Naiyaandi" also failed to set the cash registers ringing. It will be interesting to see if the national award winning actor's 25th film performs well at the box office.

Dhanush is also working in a couple of other projects including "Anegan", Vetrimaran's yet-to-be-title film and his second Hindi project "Shamitabh."

"Anegan", directed by K.V. Anand, is said to be the actor's biggest project. The film also has Karthik, Amyra Dastur, Ashish Vidyarthi, Atul Kulkarni and Jagan as part of the cast. In his Hindi film, Dhanush is paired with Akshara Haasan (Kamal Haasan's daughter). Directed by Balki, "Shamitabh" has Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role.

Besides acting in films, Dhanush will also be donning the producer's hat for a new project. According to reports, the actor has agreed to produce Krithika Udhayanidhi's second Tamil film. Buzz is that Vijay Sethupathi might play the lead role in the project, but there is no official confirmation on the same.
