After a long search, director Lal Jose has found the leading lady for his upcoming movie "Neena". The ace filmmaker has zeroed in on Mumbai based model Deepthi Sathi. The upcoming actress is a popular face in modelling circles and has earlier won the title of Miss Kerala 2012.
"I knew that Lal Jose was on the lookout for a new face for Neena and decided to give it a try. I gave an audition and I guess my look fitted the role. I wanted to get into films, but never thought I would debut through a Lal Jose movie, or with such a character as Neena. I am just too excited now and can't still believe I've been selected. The more important fact is that it is a different and challenging role," Deepthi told The Times of India
Meanwhile, "Neena" also has Ann Augustine and Vijay Babu in lead roles and Ann will play the role of Vijay Babu's wife.
Vijay will play the role of a family man, who also leads a successful corporate life and the movie will explore the intricacies and complexities of urban relationships. Their life takes a turn when 22-year-old Neena, a vagabond and an avid traveller enters their life.
The film showcases the emotional turmoil he goes through when he is in the midst of these two women. The makers of the film say that the movie is more than that and it is a story of high emotional intensity. All the characters are well defined especially that of the title character Neena. She works as the creative director of an ad agency and is a tomboy.
"Neena" is written by R Venugopal and the cinematography is handled by Jomon T John. Music of the movie will be composed by debutant Nikhil J Menon and the shooting of the movie is expected to kick-start by February.
