Deepika Padukone beats Katrina Kaif fifth time in a row; becomes top Bollywood actress of May 2016

Deepika Padukone continues to hold the top position in the "Ormax Stars India Loves" (Ormax SIL) survey for the fifth time in a row. Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are the other A-listers filling out the top five slots for the month of May.

With a sample size of 3,300 in 29 cities across India, the monthly survey assesses the Bollywood celebrities based on their film releases, TV appearances, news events, brand endorsements and such. Other stars who have found a place in the list are Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Kajol, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Deepika has been consistently topping the chart and why not, she has been making headlines for her hit films — "Piku" and "Bajirao Mastani" — and maiden Hollywood project "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage." The competition is really between Katrina, Kareena and Priyanka who move every other month.

Deepika may be in talks for a Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan film. Rumour has it, she may share screen space with SRK in one of his next films. Also, Kabir Khan was apparently at one point considering roping her for "Tubelight." However, he has rubbished the news saying he has never even discussed the idea with the leading lady.

Katrina has "Jagga Jasoos" coming up with ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka has been honouring a few professional commitments on home soil, and Kareena has been busy looking up scripts and vacationing with husband Saif Ali Khan.
