Actor-turned-politician Ambareesh fell to a death hoax again on Thursday, 10 September. However, the timely clarification by his wife and actress Sumalatha put rumours to rest.

In recent months, many false reports about his health have been floated. Even his routine check-up had sparked off rumours, saying Ambareesh was 'critical'. On Thursday, once again, speculations started doing the rounds. 

But Sumalatha denied the rumours and said her husband was having a good time with her friend's granddaughter. "Ambreesh playing with my sisters grand-daughter at home today.CAN PPL PLS STOP SPREDNG RUMORS RIGHT AWAY! HES 100% OK," she posted.

Ambareesh had breathing problems in 2014 for which he was admitted to Vikram Hospital, before being shifted to a Singapore for advanced treatment. Rumours on his bad health have occasionally spread in the media, post his recovery.

The actor, who is known as 'Rebel Star' among his fans, is a Karnataka MLA from Mandya and is Housing Minister in the Siddaramaiah government. As an actor, he made his debut as a supporting actor in the classic film "Naagarahaavu", which was directed by legendary filmmaker Putanna Kanagal. 

He later on graduated to become a hero and has acted in over 200 Kannada films.
