Manchu Manoj starrer "Current Theega" has got an A certificate from the Censor Board and it was believed that the daredevil stunts were said to have forced the panel to award this certificate.
However, the hero said the board had asked the makers to delete the item song, featuring Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, if they wanted to get the U/A certificate.
Soon after the 'A' Certificate was issued to "Current Theega" on 8 October, Manoj took to his Twitter handle, saying: "#CurrentTheega Releasing on oct 17th with 'A' certificate :) they said if we remove sunny song they wil give U/A but we said no and took 'A'."
"The members of the censor board enjoyed watching the film. Apparently they had enjoyed as the movie had full of entertainment element in it. The members also had good words for bringing societal values in the film. But if not for Sunny's oomph Item song, Current Theega would have got 'U'," according to a press release.
It further said that the makers considered the massive appeal for Sunny Leone across India and decided to keep the "item song," hence settling with the A certification.
Sunny Leone is foraying into Tollywood through "Current Theega," which features her in a crucial role. She is said to play a teacher in this big-budget film, which boasts of all the commercial ingredients to suit the taste of the Telugu audience.
This action entertainer is directed by G Nageshwara Reddy and produced by Vishnu Manchu under the banner 24 Frames Factory. Manoj Manchu and Rakul Preet Singh are playing the lead roles and Jagapathi Babu is also essaying a pivotal character in the film.
Having soared up the viewers' curiosity with its promos and music, "Current Theega", which has Achu Rajamani's music and Satish Mutyala's cinematography, is scheduled to release in theatres across the globe on 17 October.
However, the major attraction of the film is reportedly the item number featuring Sunny Leone.
