The Bangladesh Premier League 2017 has had its share of controversies, quality encounters and brilliant individual performances. The competition has reached the final day as well. Dhaka Dynamites and Rangpur Riders will battle it out for the BPL title at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Dhaka were consistent in the group stages and deservedly reached the playoffs, and beat Comilla Victorians to reach the BPL 2017 final. The Riders just barely managed to book Playoffs berth, but beat Khulna Titans in the eliminator and also got past Victorians in the second qualifier to set their final date.
With Dhaka being consistent, and Rangpur peaking at the right time, the BPL 2017 final could be a close contest.
The final could be full of runs with both teams possessing some amazing stars. Rangpur will come into this game confident after their big guns have struck form at the right time. Chris Gayle scored a ton against Titans while Brendon McCullum struck a match-winning 78 against Victorians. With runs under their belt, the duo will look to play an integral role in the final for Rangpur.
Johnson Charles, Ravi Bopara, Mohammad Mithun should also contribute with the bat. It is not going to be walk in the park for Rangpur's strong batting line-up too. They will have to deliver their A game against wonderful bowlers of Dhaka including Shakib Al Hasan, Shahid Afridi, Sunil Narine, Mosaddek Hossain among others.
Dhaka might not possess big names in their top order, but Evil Lewis and Joe Denly are capable of taking the attack to their opponents in the final. The likes of Kieron Pollard and Shakib AL Hasan have to shoulder responsibility in the middle order.
Both the teams have the ingredients to win the title, but only playing consistent cricket for 40 overs will inch them closer to their goal in Dhaka.
