"Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" ("HSKD") and the Marathi film "Lai Bhaari" have maintained a steady pace at the box office. "HSKD" is inching towards the ₹50 crore mark, while "Lai Bhaari" is doing better collections than several Bollywood films in India.

The Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan-starrer romantic comedy has accumulated around ₹44.74 crore from five days' run. The film has maintained a steady pace at the box office during the weekdays.

The earnings declined on Monday, but it managed to hold a strong spot. On Tuesday, the film remained steady witnessing only 5 to 10 percent drop in its earnings.

"HSKD" has opened well in the international market also. The film in its opening weekend raked in ₹5.55 crore from overseas box offices, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. In international market, the film has shattered the records of Dhawan's last film "Main Tera Hero."

"Lai Bhaari"

Riteish Deshmukh-starrer "Lai Bhaari" has shattered the first week records of Marathi as well as several Bollywood films. Vidya Balan's film "Bobby Jasoos," released on 3 July, has raked in ₹10.85 crore during its first week, while "Lai Bhaari," which was released in Maharashtra only, has raked in ₹14.20 crore in five days.

Deshmukh's Marathi debut film has shattered the records of other previous Marathi films. Romantic film "Timepass," which was released in January had the record of the highest opening weekend grosser that has now been shattered by "Lai Bhaari."

"Lai Bhaari has seen the best opening collection for a Marathi film and it may soon become the highest Marathi film grosser," Vishal Anand of Fun Cinemas told Mid-Day.

With no big films releasing this week, both "HSKD" and "Lai Bhaari" are expected to dominate the domestic market.
