Varun Dhawan's "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" ("HSKD") and Riteish Deshmukh's "Lai Bhaari" have completed their first week theatrical run on a grand note at the box office.

"HSKD," which features Alia Bhatt in the female lead role, has crossed the ₹50 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film was made on a budget of ₹29 crore, including printing and advertising expenses.

The makers earned ₹24 crore from the satellite, overseas and music rights even before the release of the film. Now, with box office figures crossing the ₹50 crore mark, the film has safely entered into the hit film zone.

The film has also earned ₹10.50 crore from overseas market. "HSKD" has performed well in the US-Canada and UAE-GCC circuits. The worldwide week one total of the film now stands at ₹63.81 crore.

Marathi film "Lai Bhaari" starring Deshmukh has fetched in ₹17.10 crore in its first week. The film was released in Maharashtra only, but still the week total of the film is better than several other Bollywood films released this year.

The action drama had a very strong opening weekend. But the film's collection declined after its opening weekend. On Monday, it raked in ₹2.15 crore and on Tuesday it declined to ₹1.50 crore. However, on Wednesday and Thursday, the film maintained steady pace and raked in ₹1.45 crore on each day.

This week, three films "Hate Story 2", "Pizza 3D" and "Amit Sahni Ki List" were released, but none of them managed to open on a good note.

Last week releases "HSKD" and "Lai Bhaari" are expected to lead the market this week also, since the new releases have started on a dull note.
