Rajinikanth's magnum opus film "Kochadaiiyaan" and Tiger Shroff's debut film "Heropanti" were released on Friday at the domestic box office.

The Hindi version of "Kochadaiiyaan" was expected to open on a big note, keeping in mind the huge fan following of the megastar Rajinikanth across the country. But to the contrary, the Hindi version of the film has received low occupancy.

Mornings shows in South had opened to bumper response, but the film failed to pull the crowd in north circuits. The Hindi version opened with occupancy of around 20 to 25 percent.

But since the film targeted only multiplexes, there are high possibilities that the occupancy will increase during the evening shows.

In north circuits, the film had few shows in places like Jaipur, Lucknow and others. It's only in Mumbai where the Hindi version of the film has got good response.

The film which also stars Deepika Padukone and Jackie Shroff had less than 1000 screens in north. The screen count is less than that of Rajinikanth's last film "Robot."

The Hindi version has been released in Bangalore and Hyderabad as well, but it failed to pick up. While the Tamil version is going housefull in several centers, there are hardly any audiences in Hindi.

Directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, the war drama is touted to be the first 3D film in India made using photorealistic motion capturing technology.

Heropanti
'Heropanti' starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon released worldwide on FridayFacebook/Heropanti

Bollywood film "Heropanti" starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon has received mediocre reviews, but the film managed to pull the crowds in the opening shows on day one at the box office.

The romantic masala entertainer is likely to give tough competition to the Hindi version of "Kochadaiiyaan." North circuits have opened to very good response on Friday with occupancy of more than 50 percent.

In Mumbai, the film opened to low occupancy, but it is expected to pick up in the evening shows. In south, needless to say, the film is affected due to Rajinikanth's film. Also, "Heropanti" will face competition from Nagarjuna's "Manam" in south.

The film directed by Sabbir Khan has been released in around 2000 screens at the domestic box office, which is decent enough considering that the lead casts are newbies. The film had the positive buzz before its release. Songs, which adds as one of the main factors for the film to do well at the box offices, have become popular and are topping the chartbusters.

The film is expected to have a good opening day collection considering the buzz. The only spoiler could be Hollywood's "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" which might affect the film in multiplexes.

The film marks the debut of Tiger and Sanon, and features Prakash Raj in important role.
