Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone's "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" had a good first week with the film raking in ₹86.8 crore at the domestic box office.

The romantic drama has taken the 10th spot in the list of all time top opening week grossers in India. The film has surpassed "Son Of Sardaar" (₹83.25 crore) and "Dabangg" collections, which stand at ₹81.00 crore. It has also fetched better collections than several blockbuster films including "3 Idiots" (₹79.07 crore), "Rowdy Rathore" (₹79.52 crore), "Race 2" (₹76.1 crore), "Don 2" (₹75.51 crore) and "Ready" (₹68.02 crore) among others. [Note: These collections are reported by Bollywood Hungama]

However, the Ranveer starrer has failed to surpass the first week collections of some films that released in the last few years. Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish 3" is the highest opening week grosser in India minting ₹166.52 crore, followed by "Chennai Express" which fetched ₹156.70 crore.

The other films that have scored better opening week collections than "Ram-leela" are "Ek Tha Tiger" (₹154.21 crore), "Bodyguard" (₹115 crore), "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" (₹107.61 crore), "Dabangg 2" (₹106.78 crore), Ra.One (₹99 crore), "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (₹98.41 crore) and "Agneepath" (₹91.05 crore)

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, "Ram-leela" is a love story set in the backdrop of Gujarat. Ranveer and Deepika play the lead characters, while Supriya Pathak and Richa Chadda appear in supporting roles.

The film, which released on 15 November, has been performing exceptionally well from the first day. Its opening day and first weekend collections stand at ₹16 crore and ₹52.75 crore, respectively. The film did great business even in weekdays; with a strong foothold in multiplexes. It is expected to surpass the ₹100-crore mark in India soon.

The first week was really good for "Ram-leela" as the film did not have any competition. But, this Friday (22 November) two of most-awaited Bollywood films have released - "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" and "Singh Saab The Great."

It remains to be seen as to how "Ram-leela" fares in the coming days. Since the two new releases have received mixed reviews, it is likely that the romantic drama film will continue its good run at the box office.
