The bookings for the upcoming facelifted avatar of the Rapid sedan are already open in the country and in what seems to be good news about the launch of the model is that the new avatar of the Rapid has started arriving at the dealerships of the company.

Skoda is expected to pull the wraps off the new Rapid facelift in India on November 3. The Rapid facelift has already made numerous appearances on the web though spy shots and here is another set of images of the new facelifted sedan and what is interesting is the colour. The images that have been posted on Twitter by Nishanth show the Rapid facelift donned in red body shade and one may add, the new avatar of the Rapid looks stunning.

As far as the engines of the new Rapid facelift are concerned, while the 1.6 MPI petrol mill in the current model will stay intact, the 1.5 TDI diesel mill will make way for the new 1.5-litre diesel unit of the Ameo compact sedan. The Ameo diesel generates 108bhp at 4,000rpm and 25Nm of torque at 1,500-3,000rpm. The transmission in the petrol variant is taken care of by five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission and five-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions in diesel models.

From a visual perspective, the new Rapid seems to have borrowed styling elements from the Octavia and now gets sharper grille and angular headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs). While the projector headlamp is expected to be standard across the trims, the DRLs could be limited to top-spec variant. The front bumper has been reworked and now houses a wide air dam, while the rear and side remain untouched.

Coming to the cabin, the Rapid is expected to get an updated infotainment system with Mirrorlink, automatic AC with dust and pollen filter, front centre armrest and rear AC vents. The Rapid facelift is expected to carry a price tag slightly higher than the current model.
