Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma are all busy promoting their upcoming flick "Bombay Velvet." Recently, the "PK" actress celebrated her birthday, which was on 1 May, with Ranbir and other cast members.

The special screening of "Bombay Velvet" and Anushka's birthday were celebrated together.

Interestingly, the Anurag Kashyap directorial will see film-maker Karan Johar play a negative role. His character has been named Kaizad Khambatta, and he is the main antagonist in Kashyap's dream project.

Apparently, the film is based on the book, "Mumbai Fables", which is set in 1960s. It narrates the story of a street fighter (played by Kapoor) and how Bombay transformed to become one of the biggest cities of the country.

Several on-sets and behind-the-scene pictures have been posted and shared on social media by the actors.

According to the lead pair's look, Ranbir's Johnny Balraj is in a rough look with dishevelled hair, scars and machine guns that eventually failed to receive appreciation from critics. But Anushka's Rosie Noronha stunned all with her smouldering look. She looked every inch a stage-ready jazz singer.

It is being reported that the Kapoor scion underwent heavy-weight training sessions for his part in the film. Additionally, it is being said that he will be seen as a daredevil who has shot extensive cage-fighting scenes in the neo-noir drama. However, most of the parts are shown in the film's trailer as well which received mixed reviews.

Produced by Fox Star Studios and Phantom Productions, the movie is slated for 15 May release. "Bombay Velvet" also has Kay Kay Menon, Manish Choudhary, Raveena Tandon and Siddharth Basu in pivotal roles.
