BMW G 310 R, the motorcycle jointly developed by Indo-German alliance BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company will reportedly make its market debut in India during the festive season this year. According to a MotorOctane report, the launch of the BMW G 310 R motorcycle has been confirmed for the festive season, and interested buyers may only have to wait until October for its launch.

BMW G 310 R is currently in its testing phase in the country and a prototype of the model was clicked while it was being tested recently, indicating that the model's launch is around the corner. The motorcycle, which was first showcased in Brazil last year, made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in February.

To be pitted against KTM Duke 390 and Mahindra Mojo in India, the new BMW G 310 R will be produced at the TVS Motor's facility in Tamil Nadu. In terms of dimensions, it measures 1988mm in length, 896mm in width, 1227mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1374mm.

Powering the BMW G 310 R is an all-new 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts, together with electronic fuel injection. It can churn out a power of 33.5bhp at 9,500rpm and maximum torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The motorcycle is expected to be priced at about Rs. 2.5 lakh in India. It will come in strato blue metallic, cosmic black and pearl white metallic shades. The BMW G 310 R employs a 300mm disc brake at the front, and 240mm at the rear. It features front upside down forks and mono shock suspension at the rear.
