"The Blacklist" season 3 aired episode 8, titled "Kings of the Highway" last week, before it went on mid-season break and is now expected to return with episode 9 only next year, on 7 January, 2016. And if showrunner Jon Bokenkamp's words are anything to go by, then it looks like Liz's life is in danger.

Last week in episode 8, we saw Red and Liz heading towards West Virginia, but things got complicated when Red was kidnapped by the "Kings of the Highway", a gang that aims to steal money and possessions from unsuspecting travellers and with this, Liz is left stranded.

The mid-season finale also saw Ressler arresting Liz after a lengthy chase. On the other hand, Cooper and Tom find themselves being pursued by Solomon's men, and must protect Karakurt from being killed and prevented from confessing to the OREA bombing.

The hunt for Solomon takes Reven Wright to Laurel Hitchin, who helped Solomon when he worked for the CIA. Hitchin then kills Wright to cover up her involvement with Solomon.

And now, the executive producer of the show has teased that "The Blacklist" season 3 may return with Liz's possible death in episode 9, titled "The Director". While talking to Entertainment Weekly, Jon hinted that with Liz being captured by the FBI, she will be in greater danger as the Cabal will mostly target her to stop her from telling the authorities about what she knows. "Although Ressler believes they can keep her safe, at some point he will be forced to resort to drastic measures which may mean that he will need Red's help and handle things the "non-traditional" way," he said.

The viewers can also expect to see Liz in a glass box, which was used to hold Red in the pilot episode of the show.

The Blacklist season 3 is on mid-season break and will return with "The Director" on 7 January, 2016. For more information on the upcoming episode and live streaming details, don't forget to check back here.
