The much-awaited Warner Bros. film "Man of Steel 2" now has an official title.

The film, which was tentatively titled "Batman vs Superman", is now finally called "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice", announced the production house on the movie's official Facebook page.

The official statement also threw light on the production of the film stating that it is currently underway.

"Principal photography will take place on location at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit, Michigan; Illinois; Africa; and the South Pacific," the announcement revealed.

Interestingly, the inclusion of word "justice" in the title hints that the three superheroes Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman could also become the part of Warner Bros' "Justice League" film, set to hit the theaters in 2018.

Meanwhile, apart from registering "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" title, the production house had also registered domains for several other titles including, "Man of Steel Battle the Knight", "Man of Steel Beyond Darkness", "Man of Steel Black of Knight", "Man of Steel Darkness Falls", "Man of Steel Knight Falls", "Man of Steel Shadow of the Night", "Man of Steel The Blackest Hour", and "Man of Steel The Darkness Within", reported Fusible.

Alongside Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, the cast of the movie includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's butler.

Cavill's character of Superman is based on the comic book character created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Affleck's Batman character is inspired from Bob Kane's creation, and that of Wonder Woman is based on William Moulton Marston's creation.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016.
