It looks like Bajaj Auto's Pulsar 200SS is inching closer to its launch in India. A prototype of the highly-anticipated Pulsar 200SS has been spied undisguised ahead of a potential unveiling this year.
The latest images come from IndianHoods and in the images, Pulsar 200Ss is seen in an attractive white and blue body paints.
It is not clear if the photographs have been taken in India. However, repeated sightings of the Pulsar 200S, that too in its undisguised avataar, tell us that the launch is not far off.
Two -wheeler enthusiasts in India have been waiting for some time now to press the throttle of Pulsar 200SS.
Pulsar 200SS, the fully faired version of 200NS is expected to reach India by mid-2015. Likely to be powered by the same 199.5 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled triple-spark engine of its sibling 200NS, Pulsar 200SS is rumoured to get fuel injection technology and ABS.
The current engine of 200NS has the capacity to churn out 23.52PS of power @9,500rpm and 18.3Nm of torque @8,000rpm.The engine is likely to come mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the stopping power is likely to come from 280mm and 230mm disc brakes.
The bike is expected to get dual projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and a differently shaped tail lamp.
Previous spy shots have shown the Pulsar 200SS with Saree Guard, a feature mostly associated with the Indian bikes and scooters, indicating that the bike has started reaching the showrooms in India (saree guard helps to prevent sarees and dupattas from getting tangled in the rear wheel).
Pulsar 200SS is likely to get a price tag around ₹1.5 lakh and when launched, the bike will take on the likes of Hero Karizma R, Yamaha YZF-R15 and KTM RC200 in India.
