Celebrating 33 years in the racing arena as a factory team, TVS Motor Company unveiled Akula 310 concept -- a thoroughbred track machine. The motorcycle has been built on the platform of the BMW G 310 R, which is manufactured by TVS at Hosur, Tamil Nadu, facility as part of the alliance.

The motorcycle concept has been engineered taking inputs from the factory race riders. The Akula, which refers to shark in Russian, is powered by a 310cc engine that is capable of producing 34bhp of power and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. TVS claims a high performance engine breathing through a forced air fed air box gives the engine a high rev peak capability.

The motorcycle features USD forks, stiff space frame chassis as well as lightweight carbon fibre bodywork. Other features include a digital speedo meter, on board gyro cameras and a steering damper for additional stability.

Along with the Akula 310 concept, TVS unveiled X21 concept. The X21 concept features a 212.4cc, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine. The concept is built using aluminium and carbon-fibre body and comes with monoshock suspension at the rear. TVS X21 is built on a lightweight and compact chassis with focus on weight reduction. The instrument console includes a digital speedometer, a digital tachometer, a trip meter, clock, acceleration timing, lap timing and more for performance tuning.
