Tata Motors showcased compact SUV Nexon at the ongoing Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi.

The Nexon SUV, which features the next-generation Impact design philosophy of Tata, is expected to be launched in India later this year. The front fascia of the Nexon flaunts the chrome Humanity Line on the upper grille, featuring projector headlamps with daytime running lamps (DRLs). The Nexon also gets LED tail-lamps with chrome accents, while a rising belt-line and a floating roof uplifts the rear of the car. The SUV rides on 16-inch alloy wheels.

Built on the heavily-modified Tata X1 platform of the Indica, Nexon gets a 1.2L turbo-charged petrol engine and a 1.5L diesel engine. Inside the cabin of the Nexon are a 6.5-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with eight speakers, voice control and command recognition, and a multi-functional steering wheel.

To be pitted against Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300, Tata Nexon will be priced in the range of Rs 6-10 lakh.

Auto Expo 2016 also saw the company's new compact sedan, codenamed Kite 5, Hexa SUV — the new avatar of the Aria — and the soon-to-be-launched Zica hatchback.
