Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker, unveiled its much-awaited Ignis in India at the ongoing 13th edition of biennial auto show in Delhi on Thursday.

Maruti, which unveiled its Vitara Brezza compact SUV on the opening day of the Auto Expo 2016, has also showcased its new Baleno RS at the show. Talking about Maruti Suzuki Ignis, the hatchback with SUV stance will go on sale in India during the festive season of this year. Ignis will be the third offering of Maruti to be sold through its premium dealership Nexa after S-Cross and Baleno.

Maruti Ignis, built on a new-gen platform, was first appeared at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show. Ignis, which is expected to come to the Indian market with 95 percent localisation, is likely to get a price tag between Rs 4.8 lakh and Rs 6.8 lakh.

In terms of dimensions, Ignis measures 3,700 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width and 1,595 mm in height. It has a ground clearance of 180 mm and comes on a wheelbase of 2,435 mm.

Under the bonnet, Ignis will get 1.3L MultiJet diesel engine and 1.2L VTVT petrol engine.
