2014 Auto Expo is just around the corner and car makers are getting ready to kick start the event with new models of cars. The latest edition of India's largest automobile extravaganza is expected to see the participation of auto makers from across the globe.

The biennial event will take place at Greater Noida from 6 -12 February and the extravaganza will witness the unveiling of all kinds of cars from small to ultra luxury. According to a Financial Express report, around 20 new cars have lined up to make their appearance at the upcoming Auto show.

"The Auto Expo excites everyone from manufacturer to consumer and it is always a place of new launches, unveiling and showing brand strength though futuristic concepts," FE quoted Gaurav Vangaal, automotive analyst for light vehicle forecasting at IHS as saying.

Auto majors like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Ford, Audi, Chevrolet, Nissan, BMW, Honda, Toyota, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz are said to have swung into high gear to take the stage.

Maruti Suzuki, India's largest passenger car brand is expected to showcase its highly acclaimed Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) XA Alpha, along with its A-Wind Concept car and the replacement of SX4. Maruti's A-Wind concept car, a new hatchback unveiled at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2013 is a possible replacement of Maruti A-star in India. The car is speculated to house a 3-cylinder 996 petrol engine under the hood and would come with exciting design.

Japanese carmaker Honda is also rolling up its sleeves to dazzle at the event. The auto aficionados are waiting to see Honda's new offering in the MPV segment-Mobilio. The Mobilio, an opponent of vehicles like Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Mahindra Xylo and is expected to pack a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine under the hood and is likely to be priced in the ₹5-₹6 lakh range. Beside this, Honda is also expected to bring its Jazz to the show. The vehicles will be marketed in India with 1.2 litre petrol and new 1.5 litre 'Earth Dreams' diesel engine options.

What has been exciting the auto lovers is the entry of iconic jeep Cherokee and Wrangler. Italian automobile giant Fiat is reportedly looking for a comeback to the Indian automobile industry with its two ultimate SUVs. The Jeep Cherokee will compete with cars like Audi Q5 and BMW X3 in India. The luxury car makers Audi, BMW, Jaguar and Mercedes Benz will also showcase their cars at the show. Audi's A3 compact premium sedan will make its debut at Auto Expo 2014
