The recently released Asus Zenfone 2 is expected to get Google's Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update soon while several other smartphones that are released long ago are yet to receive it. Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML model is expected to receive the firmware soon as it is reportedly in the stage of final testing.

An Asus representative has confirmed while attending to a query by an Asus Support app user named Indrajeet that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update will come to Asus Zenfone 2 ZE550ML soon, but said they "don't have official information of release date."

"I understand that you are eager to get lollipop 5.1 but it is in his final testing soon we will get the date of release then we can tell you the exact," Asus Support staff told the user.

The screenshot of the alleged conversation has been uploaded on Asus ZenTalk forum online.

Asus devices like ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 have received Android 5.0 Lollipop, and now, ZenFone 2 ZE550ML will get the upgraded version of the software.

Surprisingly, there is no word on whether other models of Zenfone 2 - ZE500CL and ZE551ML - will receive the firmware update. Both these devices currently run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
