After the successful launch of Fonepad 7 voice-calling tablet at the ongoing IFA event in Berlin, Asus announced two new Android tablets - MeMo Pad 8 and MeMo Pad 10, on Thursday.

Asus MeMo Pad 8 sports an 8-inch IPS display with 1280x800 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The tablet packs 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded using microSD card slot and houses a 5-megapixel rear camera along with 1.2-megapixel camera on the front. The device packs a 3,950mAh battery which is expected to deliver nine hours of HD video playback on a single charge and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

On the other hand, the bigger MeMo Pad 10 tablet boasts of 10-inch IPS (1280×800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. Other specifications include a 2-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front facing camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and a 5,070mAh battery. It comes in 8/16GB internal storage options which can be further expanded via the microSD card slot.

The Taiwan-based electronics company has been on a launching spree in the past couple of months. Apart from the aforementioned tablets, Asus has also unveiled two new laptops - the X102BA featuring a 10.1-inch touchscreen display and Transformer Book T300 Laptop with provision for a magentic dock connector that transforms the device into a tablet.
