Shah Rukh Khan will reportedly release the trailer of his most awaited film "Happy New Year" (HNY) during this Indian Premiere League (IPL) season.

Khan, who co-owns Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise, will unveil the first teaser trailer of his film "Happy New Year" during the first IPL match between Mumbai Indians and KKR, according to Zoom.

SRK has an unending relationship with cricket and he certainly knows who to benefit from it.

The King Khan has full plans of launching the teaser trailer of the Farah Khan directorial during the opening match, Zoom reported quoting sources. The master behind this idea is King Khan himself.

This is not the first time that the actor is trying to cash in from the IPL T20 popularity. Last year too, he kept a surprise for his fans during the last match of the IPL season sixth. Reports were that the actor wanted to release the trailer of his blockbuster film "Chennai Express".

But much to the disappointment of fans, the makers did not release the trailer last year. However, a 31-second first look promo video of his film was revealed.

In 2011, the actor revealed the 10-second teaser and 30-second teaser of his sci-fi film "Ra. One" during the Pakistan-West Indies and India-Australia matches.

Meanwhile, the promotion of "HNY" will kick start if the trailer is released during the opening match which is being held in the UAE. This year, the opening ceremony and matches till 30 April will be held in the UAE.

"HNY" is directed by Farah and produced under Red Chillies Banner. Apart from SRK, the film also casts Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah in important roles. The film is set for Diwali release this year.
