After reports of PlayStation Network (PSN) accounts being hacked emerged last month, Sony was forced to reset passwords for many accounts, which were affected by the "irregular activity."
It has now been learnt that some players are still facing the consequences of hacking, which was reportedly prompted by users exploiting trading cards for FIFA 14, according to GamingBolt.
"We routinely monitor for irregular activity, and if such activity is detected, we may sometimes reset passwords of affected SEN accounts to protect consumers and their account information," Sony had told Gaming Bolt.
Many Reddit users have reported they were charged on their accounts without their knowledge. Some PSN accounts were being charged money for someone else's FIFA 14 Trading Card purchases, as most of the users have their credit card details associated with their PSN accounts.
"Something similar happened to me on Xbox 360, was charged $135 and they bought FIFA and season pass and crap. Microsoft cleared it all but it took 3 weeks and they temporarily closed my account during their investigation," reported a Reddit user. The user was luckily was able to get back the money but had to wait for three weeks.
"Someone charged $150 on my @PlayStation account. They told me "all sales final" now I find out PSN was hacked 6 days ago..." tweeted another user with Twitter handle @little_busterOL.
Another user said that he had telephonic conversation with a PSN representative, who said that money of such users will be refunded but will require them 5-7 business days. The representative also said that this will be looked on a case-by-case basis.
PSN users were requested to have stronger passwords and were advised not to save their credit card details on the network.
