Even before Google completes its roll out of Android 4.4 Kitkat OS to all Android handsets, the leaks regarding Android 4.4.1 update is out.

Android 4.4.1 Kitkat OS was seen on Google Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and the latest Nexus 5 server logs.

Sources reveal that all three Nexus devices have been spotted in the analytics, with the new Kitkat version.

Along with Nexus devices, an unknown device was also said to be running on Android 4.4.1 Kitkat OS, reported 9to5 Google.

It was also noted that HTC One Google Play Edition will get the same Android 4.4.1 OS "in near future", said HTC ROM developer LLabTooFeR on a Twitter post. The firmware name is said to be called KOT49E.

However, it is too early to tell what new features or bug fixes are included in the OS as nothing has been made official by Google itself.

Google Chrome Apps for Android

In related news, Google Chrome apps for Android may get a January release of its beta version.

The project titled as "Mobile Chrome Apps" is being led by Michal Mocny, Google software developer. The project is not yet ready to go on floors for now but Joe Marini, Lead Dev Relations for Chrome Apps, has hinted that users may have "something in beta form in January."

Google's main aim is to give some finishing touches to the tool kit before it arrives on Google Play Store and Apple's App Store. The Chrome apps would need Android 4.x OS version or later versions to run.

Google had earlier unveiled it desktop apps for Chrome, which included special offline apps based on JavaScript, HTML and CSS and which could work outside the Chrome browser, reported Android Authority.
