Rahesh Roshan's superhero film, "Krrish 3" is on the verge of joining ₹300 crore club, as its worldwide box office collections is nearing the figures after four weeks of theatrical run. Four Bollywood films - "Chennai Express", "3 Idiots", "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewaani" have crossed ₹300-crore mark till date.

"Krrish 3", featuring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi, has collected ₹243.07 crore domestic box office, according to Bollywood Hungama. Its collection from overseas till 24 November stands at ₹53.07 crore ($8.5 million) taking the worldwide earning to a whopping ₹296.14 crore.

The superhero film is still short of about ₹4 crore to reach the ₹300-crore mark. Its collection has been badly affected by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, "Ram-leela" starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, and its theatrical count will drop further, following the release of Saif Ali Khan's "Bullett Raja" but it still has a good chance of earning a few more crores if it runs in the theatres for a few more days.

According to Koimoi.com, four Bollywood films have crossed ₹300-crore mark (worldwide collection) till date. "Chennai Express" starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone earned ₹399 crore from worldwide, while "3 Idiots" featuring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor earned ₹386 crore, "Ek Tha Tiger" starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif earned ₹319 crore, and "Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewaani" featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone collected ₹309 crore.

However, the figures on Wikipedia contradict with that of Koimoi.com, putting the worldwide collection "Chennai Express" at ₹395 crore, "3 Idiots" ₹392 crore, "Ek Tha Tiger" ₹310 crore and "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" ₹301 crore, but the fact is these films have crossed ₹300 crore.

The net profit margin of these blockbuster films will differ based on their total cost of production, yet crossing ₹300-crore mark is an achievement in itself.

"Krrish 3" earned ₹25.50 on the opening day and went on to beat Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express" lifetime collection of ₹227 crore at domestic box office in just 15 days. It broke "3 Idiots" second weekend record collection of ₹33 crore by earning ₹39.83 crore in the corresponding period and went on to becoming the fastest film to enter ₹200-crore club (domestic box office).

The science fiction superhero film was released in 4,400 screens across the country and 550 screens overseas this Diwali (1 November). It is the third installment of the "Krrish" series after "Koi... Mil Gaya" (2003) and "Krrish" (2006).
