Tamil film "Raja Rani" has embarked on a good start at the Indian box office. The film has earned over ₹9 crore in Tamil Nadu alone.
The Arya-Nayanthara starrer topped the Chennai box office in its opening weekend. The film was released in maximum number of screens and earned around ₹72 lakh in the city. Its collections in Kerala and Karnataka have also been pretty good. The opening weekend earnings from the three states are pegged at over ₹12 crore.

International Markets
"Raja Rani" has opened to a magnificent start in key international markets.
The film minted over ₹55 lakh in the UK, whereas its collections stood at around ₹1 crore in the US. In the UAE-GCC areas, it collected approximately ₹1 crore. The film has performed well in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore.

The total collections of "Raja Rani" are pegged at around ₹5.02 crore in the international arena. However, Telugu film "Attarintiki Daredi", which released simultaneously on 27 September, is dominating the international markets. The film has raked in over ₹10 crore at the US box office alone in its debut weekend, whereas "Raja Rani" earned slightly over ₹1 crore.
The Arya-Nayanthara starrer is expected to continue its solid business for a few more days, until new films hit the screens in the second week of October.
