Actor Dhanush's "Mariyaan", which was released on 19 July, is still running in theatres in UK-Ireland and Australia.

The film opened to a good response from film critics, thanks to Dhanush's fantastic performance and the film's breathtaking visuals.

In its opening weekend, "Mariyaan" collected about ₹12.42 lakh [£ 13,675] on five screens at the UK-Ireland box office. The film earned approximately ₹10 lakh in the second weekend. The total collections are now pegged at ₹23.13 lakh.

The romantic drama, which is inspired by real-life incidents, has made better collections at the Australian box office. The film raked in approximately ₹25.03 lakh from Australia at the end of the second weekend.

"Tamil film #Maryan *total after 2nd Weekend* UK £ 25,324 [Rs. 23.13 lakhs] ... Australia A$ 45,676 [Rs. 25.03 lakhs]," film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"Mariyaan" has also performed well in Indian markets. The film, which topped the Chennai box office during the first week, has now been pushed down to the third spot due to new releases including Vishal's "Pattathu Yaanai" and Hollywood film "Wolverine".

Dhanush is on a high note following the success of his Hindi debut "Raanjhanaa" and his latest Tamil release "Mariyaan". The national award-winning actor has won accolades for his performance in both films. The latest to join the legion of stars who are impressed with Dhanush's work is superstar Rajinikanth.

A special screening of the film was arranged for Rajini and the actor is said to have been really impressed with Dhanush's stunning performance. The actor seems to be on a roll with many lauding his work in his last two films. He has now shifted his focus onto his next project and is currently in Switzerland for the shooting of a song in his upcoming film "Naiyaandi".

Directed by A Sarkunam, "Naiyaandi" is a Tamil comedy flick set in a village. The film has Nazriya Nazim of "Neram" fame playing the female lead role. The first look poster of the film, which was released a couple of days ago, has already generated a lot of buzz.
