Allu Arjun starrer "Iddarammayilatho" has opened to a good start not just in India, but also overseas.

"Iddarammayilatho" fetched more than ₹12 crore in the opening day collections in India, according to Allu Sirish, brother of Allu Arjun.

"Iddarammayilatho day-1 all India gross : 12cr +. AP - 10.5cr, Karnataka 1.05cr. Waiting for TN & Kerala figures. Bunny's biggest opening. Also among top 3-4 openings in all territories. Congrats to Puri Jagan, Bandla Ganesh, Devi, the girls & IA crew," Allu Sirish tweeted.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film is said to have opened to a grand response worldwide. "Iddarammayilatho" did good business in the overseas market as well.

According to trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh, "Iddarammayilatho" collected a total of ₹97.14 lakh in two days. The film raked in $ 89,680 (around ₹50,731,97) during the Thursday preview and minted $ 82,008 (around ₹46,39,192) on Friday.

"Telugu film #Iddarammayilatho Thu previews $ 89,680, Fri $ 82,008. Total: $ 171,688 [₹97.14 lacs]," Taran tweeted.

It is yet to be seen if the film would be able to sustain the momentum during the first weekend. Mixed reviews from film critics might affect its performance. However, there are no big releases for at least a week. The film is expected to do decent business at the box office.

"Iddarammayilatho" revolves around three leading stars - guitarist Sanju Reddy (Allu Arjun), Akanksha (Catherine Tresa) and Komali Sankarabharanam. Allu Arjun is popularly known as the stylish star and the film gives a lot of scope for the actor to showcase his stylish looks. The film is a visual treat, but lacks substance, according to critics.

The heroines look beautiful, but neither of them have enough scope to perform. The comic scenes by Ali anf Brahmanandam have become routine and fails to evoke laughter.

This is the second time that Allu Arjun has teamed up with director Puri Jagannadh after their hit film "Desamuduru", which was released in 2007. "Iddarammayilatho" has been produced by Ganesh Bandla under Parameswara Art Productions. The music composed by Devi Sri Prasad are chartbusters.
