A string of smartphones from Chinese handset maker Huawei are ready to get upgraded to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.

According to a report from GSMinsider, smartphones like Huawei Ascend D1, Huawei Ascend P1 and Huawei Honor 2 are next in line to get Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update along with the other unspecified handsets. Besides the update, the aforementioned handsets are also scheduled to receive Huawei's Emotion UI 1.6.

"The Huawei Ascend D1 (dual-core and quad-core), Huawei Ascend P1 and Huawei Honor 2 to get the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean together with Emotion UI 1.6," reported GSM Insider.

The reports have been confirmed by Huawei CEO Richard Yu. Many other smartphones from Huawei are also due to receive the OS update. The news is certainly a cause for delight to owners of these smartphones, which are among the first few smartphones from the Chinese company.

The Ascend P1, a device was launched in January 2012 is the oldest handsets among the three which is set to receive the update. It sports a 4.3-inch screen with 960 x 540 pixels resolution and is powered by a dual-core processor. This is the first update for the trio ever since its launch. All the three smartphones still run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

The next smartphone which is listed for Jelly Bean update is Ascend D1 which was launched in February 2012. The device which is available with dual-core and quad-core processor varinats is expected to receive the update. Regarding the specifications of Honor 2, it sports a 4.5-inch screen with 720 pixels and is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor.
