Last week it was confirmed that Suriya's "Singam 2" will be released on 14 June. But it appears the film will not have a solo run at the box office and will be facing competition from two other films.

Actor Siddharth's "Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru"(TVSK) and Shiva's "Thillu Mullu" will also be clashing on the same day.

Confirming the news, senior journalist Sreedhar Pillai tweeted, "June 14 - Comedy Clash in Kollywood. UTV's #TheeyaVelaiSeiyyanumKumaru (TVSK) v/s Vendhar Movies #ThilluMullu."

"TVSK" and "Thillu Mullu" belong to the comedy genre, but "Singam 2" is a mass entertainer. The original, which was released in 2010, had a good dose of comedy. The sequel "Singam 2" is also expected to have more fun elements with the presence of two popular comedians - Vivek and Santhanam.

Suriya will be reprising the role of a tough cop, Dorai Singam, in "Singam 2". The audio launch of the film is scheduled to take place on 2 June. Anushka Shetty and Hansika Motwani play the female leads.

On the other hand, Siddharth-starrer "TVSK" is a rom-com directed by Sundar C. Hansika Motwani has been paired with Siddharth. It will be a double treat for her fans as two of her films are releasing on the same day. Comedian Santhanam is also part of the flick.

Another most-awaited film to be released is Shiva's "Thillu Mullu", a remake of director Balachander's classic comedy of the same name. Superstar Rajinikanth donned a dual role in the original released in 1981. Now, popular actor Shiva, who is known for his roles in "Chennai 28" and "Tamizhpadam", will step into the shoes of the superstar. It has to be seen if the actor would be able to recreate the magic that superstar achieved.

Prakash Raj reprises the role of legendary actor "Thengai" Sreenivasan. Isha Talwar plays the female lead. Badri directs the film and Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the songs.

With two comedy films and one action drama releasing on the same day, it remains to be seen which film would emerge more successful from the lot.
