Tiger Woods, who hit the headlines in 2009 over his alleged affairs with several women while he was still married to Elin Nordegren, is in love again. The new woman in the former world champion's life is Lindsey Vonn.
The 39-year-old golfer announced on Tuesday that he is dating skier Lindsey Vonn.
"This season has been great so far and I'm happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating," wrote Tiger Woods on his facebook page.
"We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."
Lindsey Vonn also revealed on her twitter page that she was dating the golfer.
"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV," she wrote on twitter.
Lindsey Vonn, 28, is a World Cup alpine ski racer and America's most successful skier. She has won several titles including four World Cup championships and Olympics gold. She became the first American woman to win gold medal in downhill at the 2010 Winter Olympics. She is one of the six women to have won World Cup titles in all disciplines of alpine skiing - downhill, super G, giant slalom, slalom, and super combined.
Tiger Woods, who has won 14 major golf championships, was hit by infamous sex scandal in 2009 which led to his divorce from wife Elin Nordegren. Over a dozen women came out in the open, claiming that they had affair with him.
