Ek Tha Tiger In World's Top Ten Most Searched Movies: Google zeitgeist 2012 India Complete List

Search engine giant Google has released its "Most Searched" of 2012, revealing the top searches of the year online. Interestingly, "Ek Tha Tiger" made it to the top ten feature film searches around the world.

The Salman Khan-Katrina starrer also topped the Indian list for the most searched movies online, according to Google zeitgeist released on Thursday.  

Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films, "Ek Tha Tiger" stands seventh in the global list of most searched movies online. The top three positions went to "The Hunger Games", "Sky Fall" and "Prometheus", respectively.

The zeitgeist by Google gives a snapshot of events, people, incidents, issues, places images and videos that dominated the online world this year. The list revealed interesting trends and search patterns and is often treated as a yardstick of online popularity.

Interestingly, the top searched term in Google zeitgeist 2012 India list is not a celebrity or an event. It is instead IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection), and is followed by Gate Exams and Sunny Leone in the most searched terms list.

Sunny Leone, the former porn star who acted in Pooja Bhat's "Jism 2" also topped the list of most searched people in 2012, followed by Rajesh Khanna and Poonam Pandey.

"Rowdy Rathore", an action film directed by Prabhu Deva came second in the most searched movies in India followed by crime thriller "Jannat 2". "Housefull 2", "Raaz 3" and "Jism 2" came in fourth, fifth and sixth positions of the list, respectively.

Kerala topped the top travel destinations search, followed by the Taj Mahal and Wagah Border. Vaishno Devi and Amarnath stood at the fourth and fifth spots, according to search engine giant Google.

However, Delhi was the most searched city in India, and Bangalore the second most searched city name followed by Mumbai and Chennai.

Interestingly the most searched news list has Sensex in first position followed by Vilasrao Desmukh death and Hurricane Sandy. Anna Hazare and controversial Aseem Trivedi cartoons come in fourth and fifth positions respectively in the most searched News.

The annual list released normally in early December and gives an insight in to the terms that were the most searched globally and in different countries.
