Teen pop star Justin Bieber stole the show at the 40th American Music Awards 2012 (AMA) on Sunday night, walking away with three awards including the top award - Artist of the Year - beating Drake, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

Justin Bieber bagged awards - Artist of the Year, Pop/Rock Favourite Male Artist and Pop/Rock Favourite Album for "Believe".

Other artiste, who walked away with multiple awards, was rapper Nicki Minaj. She bagged two awards - Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Album.

The other winners at the AMA 2012 include Taylor Swift - country female artist, Rihanna - Soul/R&B album, Katy Perry - pop/rock female artist, Carly Rae Jepsen - new artist of the year, Maroon 5 - pop/rock band, duo or group and Adele - Adult contemporary artist.
