Shiv Sena Supremo Bal Thackeray's health improved on Friday. The 86-year-old patriarch's health is stable and he is responding to the medication.

"He is stable and we are doing everything we can...His health is improving...He is better than yesterday...We have still not given up hopes," his son Uddhav Thackeray  had told the surging crowd outside his house, in the Bandra Suburb,Thursday.  Uddhav is scheduled to address a pressmeet later on the day to give update on the Shiv Sena Chief's health, IANS reported.

News of his improving health has brought back the calm to the city, as normal activities resumed. The restive crowd outside Thackeray's house is also thinning.
