The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Tuesday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 51.0465 rupees and the euro 67.3936 rupees.

The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (March 3, 2012) were 50.5645 rupees and 67.4854 rupees respectively.

Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 81.0874 as against 81.0498 on the previous day (March 3, 2012) and that of Japanese yen is 61.75 as against 61.63 the previous day.
