The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday fixed the reference rate for the US dollar at 48.6790 rupees and the euro 63.5678 rupees.

The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (February 3, 2012) were 48.9640 rupees and 64.3953 rupees respectively.

Based on the reference rate for the US dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 76.7522 as against 77.4659 on the previous day (February 3, 2012) and that of Japanese yen is 63.46 as against 64.24 the previous day.
