The much-awaited news about Suriya's upcoming movie "24" is here. The film makers of the movie have announced that AR Rahman will compose the music.
This is the third time that the music maestro is teaming up for a Suriya movie. The two have earlier worked in 2004 for "Aaytha Ezhuthu" and in 2006 for "Sillonoru Kadhal".
The upcoming movie "24" is directed by Vikram K Kumar. The cinematography of the movie is done by PS Vinod who is known for his work in "Rhythm", "Neal 'n'Nikki", "Rakta Charithra", "David" and "Manam". The editing of the movie will be handled by Prawin Pudi while Rajeevan will take care of art direction.
Vikram is a popular director in Tamil and Telugu cinema. He made his debut as a director with a 1998 non-feature film "Silent Scream", which won the National Film Award for Best Educational/Motivational/Instructional Film.
His first feature film was "Istam" (Telugu), starring Tarun and Shriya Saran. This was followed by "Alai" (Tamil), "Yavarum Nalam" (Tamil), "13B" (Hindi) and "Ishq" (Tamil). His last released film was Telugu movie "Manam", which was known for casting the three generations of the Akkineni family, including Nageshwara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaithanya.
It is still not clear who will play the lead female role opposite Suriya, but rumours are that Ileana d'Cruz is likely to get it. Her last Tamil movie was "Nanban", remake of Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots".
Reports indicate that Vikram had earlier offered the role to Telugu actor Mahesh Babu but he apparently refused to accept, as he thought that the story line of the film was highly complicated. Moreover, the script demanded the lead actor to be seen in various looks, and Mahesh reportedly was not confident of playing such a role.
The upcoming movie, "24", is produced by 2D Entertainment and the shooting is expected to kick start soon after Suriya finishes the schedule of Venkat Prabhu's "Masss".
