Baahubali
Yash Raj Films wanted to acquire the rights to the Hindi version of Facebook/Baahubali

The makers of "Bahubali 2," which is also known as "Baahubali – The Conclusion," have recently announced the release date of the film. The multilingual movie will be out in theatres on April 28. This means that the movie will not clash with Ajith Kumar's upcoming movie, which is written and directed by Siruthai Siva.

The makers of Ajith's film, which is being referred to as "Thala 57" by fans and media, also revealed recently that the movie would be released in April 2017. This came as a shock to trade pundits as releasing it alongside "Bahubali" would impact the business of both the films.

Now, reports have confirmed that "Thala 57" will be out on April 14 on the occasion of the Tamil New Year. The 14-day gap between Ajith's film and SS Rajamouli's movie is considered a good move, given the fact that the major part of a film's revenue comes in the first two weeks itself.

"Thala 57" is a spy-thriller in which Ajith plays the role of an investigating officer. Kajal Aggarwal plays the main female lead. She will be seen in the role of his wife. The film also stars Akshara Haasan in an important role.

The project, which is bankrolled by Sathyajyothi Films, features Anirudh Ravichander, Vetri and Anthony Ruben handling the music, cinematography and editing departments, respectively.

"Bahubali 2," on the other hand, is an epic historical film, written and directed by SS Rajamouli. The film is being made with a budget of Rs. 130 crore. It will be released in three versions — Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Rana Daggubati are in the lead roles in the movie.

The first instalment of the project was a blockbuster, and earned over Rs. 600 crore from the three versions at the box office. No wonder then that the second instalment is also expected to open big worldwide.
