Telecom equipment maker Huawei has teamed up with Airtel to provide free Wi-Fi to passengers travelling in Easy Cabs taxi service within the Delhi-NCR region.

Commuters making use of the taxi service in the national capital can avail free Airtel 3G internet through Huawei E355 data card. This service will initially be rolled out to 100 cabs. There are no reports whether the offer will be made available in other cities using this taxi service.

Passengers will be given a password to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi service and can download heavy files, watch videos and enjoy live streaming. Users can also make video calls as well. This offer is available for three months, from 28 June to 27 September.

"We are really excited to launch 3G Wi-Fi connectivity on the go in Easy Cabs, powered by Airtel's high speed 3G internet and enabled by Huawei E355 WiFi data card. Furthermore, Huawei has struck a deal with the telecommunication provider to offer its E355 data card in Airtel retail stores as well as online retailers like Flipkart, Snapdeal, etc.
