Even as the buzz on Vijay's "Kaththi" is yet to die down, speculations about the actor's next film have been doing the rounds for a while.
Latest buzz is that Ilayathalapathy (Vijay is fondly referred by fans) might appear in dual roles in his next film tentatively called "Vijay 58," according to Indiaglitz. If it turns out to be true, it will be the fourth time that Vijay will be seen in two roles after "Azhagiya Thamizh Magan," "Villu" and the latest release "Kaththi." However, an official confirmation is still awaited in this regard.
The film, touted to be a fantasy thriller, will be directed by Chimbudevan of "Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi" fame. Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani will be appearing as the female leads, while yesteryear actress Sridevi and Sudeep of "Naane Ee" fame will be playing pivotal characters in "Vijay 58."
Nutty of "Sathuranga Vettai" fame will be handling the cinematography, while music composer Devi Sri Prasad will take care of the film's soundtracks. An official announcement on the film's cast and crew details are still awaited.
There is a buzz that the film will go on floors on 9 November. "Vijay 58" team is reportedly planning to shoot the film in never-seen-before locations across India. Since the film is a fantasy thriller, it will involve a lot of VFX work. Makuta VFX, the visual effects company which has worked for "Naan Ee" and "Magadheera" ("Maaveeran" in Tamil), has been roped in for "Vijay 58."
Although the film is yet to go on floors, buzz surrounding its title has started to emerge. There were speculations that the Vijay starrer has been named as "Maarisan," but sources close to the film have denied the title, reported The Times of India.
"Vijay 58" is reportedly being made on a budget of around ₹90 crore, which is said to be the costliest film ever in Ilayathalapathy's career. Expectations are sky high for the film considering that it boasts of a big star cast. Moreover, the success of Vijay's recently-released "Kaththi" will raise the hype surrounding his next project. Whether "Vijay 58" will be able to recreate "Kaththi" magic is something one needs to wait and watch.
Produced by P.T. Selvakumar (Vijay's PRO) and Shibu of Thameens Films, "Vijay 58" will be hitting screens next year.
