An earthquake of  5.9-magnitude was reported in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan-Pakistan region on Sunday.

Reports claim that the quake shook, Kabul for nearly half a minute.

The epicentre of the quake lay about 300 kms from Kabul near Ashkasham in Afghanistan,according to the United States Geological Survey reported.

The tremors of the earthquake were felt in New Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, and parts of Pakistan such as Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar. According a news report from Pakistan, tremors of the earthquake  were felt in 35 Pakistani cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Murree, Sargodha, Okara, Peshawar, Malakand, Sheikhupura, Lower Dir and Kalabagh.

The quake was also reportedly felt in Tajikistan and Indonesia.

Last month a quake measuring 7.5 magnitude with epicentre in Jarm, Afghanistan, close to the border with Pakistan killed more than 200 people, rendered scores homeless in the region.
